Ogura Yuko to get married today
10 Oct – Over the weekend, Japanese model Ogura Yuko held a press conference, where she announced that she has officially registered her marriage with her hair/make-up artist Kikuchi Isao, according to a report on Tokyo Hive website.
Ogura then went on to reveal the reason for her marriage saying, "He is very kind, and I thought he would protect me no matter what. We want to build a family that doesn't stop smiling."
She also shared, "I'm happy, but a little sad that my last name will be different from my parents."
Ogura and Kikuchi will head to the island of Oahu in Hawaii, where they will supposedly hold their wedding ceremony today. The newlyweds will then fly out to the mainland for their honeymoon.
About a year ago, Kikuchi surprised Ogura with a cake that said, "Let's get married," and an engagement ring. She showed off her Harry Winston 2-carat diamond ring as she said, "I was overjoyed, and said 'Please take care of me.' Since long ago, I wished for a heart-shaped ring when that time came, so when I saw it, I was very happy."
The two met three years ago through a mutual friend, and started dating. Last November, it was reported they would get married in February however Ogura quickly denied the rumors.
