Ben Stiller

Summary

Ben Stiller is an Emmy Award-winning comedian, actor, film producer and director. He is the son of veteran comedians and actors Jerry Stiller and Anne Meara whom he can be seen co-starring with in many of his films and TV spots.

He is a member of the comedic acting brotherhood known as the “Frat Pack,” the 1990s-2000s era nickname given to a group of male comedy actors who have appeared together in many high-grossing comedic films. Other members of the pack include: Jack Black, Will Ferrell, Vince Vaughn, Owen Wilson, Luke Wilson, and Steve Carell.

Stiller was born in New York City. At 10 years old, he made his acting debut as a guest on his mother's television series Kate McShane. After he graduated from the Calhoun School in New York in 1983, he enrolled at UCLA as a film student and joined Beta Theta Pi fraternity. He dropped out of school after one year and returned to New York to pursue a stage career there.

In 1989, Stiller wrote and appeared on a season of Saturday Night Live as a featured performer. He only appeared in five episodes, leaving the show after they removed his short films from the air.

In May 2000, Stiller married Christine Taylor, whom he met while filming the FOX network pilot Heat Vision and Jack, which starred Jack Black.The couple appeared on-screen together in Zoolander and Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story. The couple have a daughter, Ella Olivia, born April 10, 2002, and a son, Quinlin Dempsey, born July 10, 2005.
