USA vs Mexico: Follow the Concacaf Nations League final LIVE

The main event is here, as the U.S. men’s national team and Mexico face off at AT&T Stadium with the Concacaf Nations League title on the line.

The USMNT is looking to make it three Nations League titles out of three, while Mexico is aiming for revenge after the U.S. defeated them in an epic 2021 Nations League final in Denver.

FINAL – Mexico 0-2 USA

The game has mercifully ended. The United States are once again Concacaf Nations League winners, cruising to a 2-0 victory over Mexico in the final.

96' – Mexico 0-2 USA

Fischer has stopped the match again. This is ridiculous.

93' – Mexico 0-2 USA

The chant did return. Fischer may want to end this match quickly before it ends up abandoned.

92' – Mexico 0-2 USA

We’re back. Hopefully the chant does not return tonight.

88' - Mexico 0-2 USA

After about five instances of “the chant,” Fischer has finally stopped the game. This is step one of the three-stop protocol, which is as follows:

  • Step 1: Match stoppage and warning to fans
  • Step 2: Match suspension and players moved to benches
  • Step 3: Abandonment of the match

85' - Mexico 0-2 USA

Pineda and Lozano with some decent looks from distance but the shots have been wayward. It’s not looking in the cards for Mexico (again) versus the U.S. tonight.

78' - Mexico 0-2 USA

Mexico has been well on top since Reyna’s goal but has been unable to create anything that has really troubled Turner. Reyna coming out for Musah now as Berhalter looks to regain control of the midfield.

73' - Mexico 0-2 USA

Replays show that there was absolutely no contact, making Fischer’s call an easy one: no penalty, yellow card to Gimenez for diving.

72' - Mexico 0-2 USA

Penalty for Mexico! El Tri get a chance to get back into the match as Robinson swings at Gimenez and brings the striker down. The left back is saying there was no contact and we are going to VAR. Referee Drew Fischer is heading to the monitor.

63' - GOAL USA

Reyna makes it two!! Great work from Pulisic to skip past his defender on the left flank and his cross is only half cleared out to Reyna, who smashes a half volley to the near post that Ochoa can’t reach.

61' - Mexico 0-1 USA

Big chance for Mexico as Martin out-muscles Dest in the box and brings the ball down, but his tight-angle shot flies well wide of the near post when he should have hit the target.

58' - Mexico 0-1 USA

Alvarez FLIES in with a challenge on McKennie, earning a deserved yellow card. Like many USA-Mexico games, it’s highly questionable if both sides will end with 10 players.

57' - Mexico 0-1 USA

Good combination play from Mexico sees Lozano get a decent shot off from near the top of the box, but it’s right at Turner.

50' - Mexico 0-1 USA

The USMNT comes out looking for a second, with Ochoa saving a low drive from Weah at the near post.

46' - Mexico 0-1 USA

The second half is underway. After his sensational goal, Adams (who is on a minutes restriction) is taken off with Cardoso on in his place.

HALFTIME - Mexico 0-1 USA

The game enters the break with Mexico taking a body blow right before the halftime whistle. How will El Tri respond to that?

45' - GOAL USA!!

Wow! Tyler Adams with a SENSATIONAL hit from way downtown! Just a bomb from the USMNT midfielder from 35 yards out on his first start for the U.S. since the World Cup. Given the occasion and the opponent, that one will go down in the annals of all-time classic USMNT goals.

38' - Mexico 0-0 USA

Dest almost brings the house down with a sensational individual goal, blowing past a defender with a stepover before blasting a shot over from 20 yards out. He may have had better options there, but hard to blame him for shooting after that move.

33' - Mexico 0-0 USA

Another clash between Reyna and Alvarez, this time with the American getting a high boot on the Mexican’s foot as he clears the ball. Plenty of contact, but no foul. Alvarez is down for a while, hardly able to believe Reyna wasn’t whistled for that.

27' - Mexico 0-0 USA

McKennie beaten by Lozano and pulls down the winger, taking a yellow card to stop a Mexico counter. Not clear if that was necessary 10 yards inside his own half. The Juventus man will have to be careful now.

22' - Mexico 0-0 USA

Chance for Mexico off a long throw, but Chavez can’t get any purchase on his volley, which is straight at Turner.

21' - Mexico 0-0 USA

19' - Mexico 0-0 USA

Rough challenge between Alvarez and Reyna, with both sliding in hard and making contact with each other. Referee Drew Fischer decides that Alvarez was the aggressor and gives the West Ham man a yellow card.

15' - Mexico 0-0 USA

Wright really trying to get physical with Mexico defenders, and has been perhaps a bit too overzealous so far. Two fouls whistled against the USMNT forward in the last five minutes.

10' - Mexico 0-0 USA

Energetic start here from both teams, with the heavily pro-Mexico crowd already getting into it. Can the players (and fans) keep up this kind of pace? Unlikely.

5' - Mexico 0-0 USA

Chance USA! Pulisic with an excellent touch past a defender in the box off Reyna’s headed pass, but Ochoa comes out well to deny the captain with his face.

2' - Mexico 0-0 USA

Dangerous early free kick for Mexico from the left flank after a silly foul by Dest, but Turner punches the service clear.

KICKOFF

We are underway!

Almost show time

After a wild opening ceremony with copious amounts of pyrotechnics, the players are in the tunnel and ready to come out. It’s almost that time.

Balogun carrying a knock

Another record on the line

The USMNT enters this game on a six-match unbeaten streak (4W-0L-2D) against Mexico, tied for the longest such run in program history. A win tonight would set a new record.

How to watch

Wondering where you can watch the game tonight? We got you covered right HERE.

Mexico lineup

Two changes for Mexico from its 3-0 win over Panama in the semifinal. Jorge Sanchez comes in at right back for Julian Araujo, while winger Julian Quinones is injured and replaced by Hirving Lozano.

It's been a while

Five changes for the USMNT

Gregg Berhalter makes five changes from the lineup that started Thursday’s semifinal against Jamaica, with Sergino Dest, Tim Ream, Tyler Adams, Gio Reyna, and Haji Wright all coming in.

Making way are Joe Scally, Miles Robinson, Yunus Musah, Malik Tillman and Folarin Balogun.

Reyna and Wright were dynamite off the bench in the semifinal against Jamaica, with the former assisting the latter for both goals in extra time.

Dest, who was suspended for the semifinal, replaces Scally as expected. Ream also comes in for Robinson, who had some shaky moments against Jamaica.

Keep an eye on Adams, who Berhalter said will still be on a minutes restriction tonight after only just coming back from a serious hamstring injury.
