Standard Sizes, Types of Fit, and Size Charts

Standard Sizes – Dress Shirts

Standard Sizes are another great way to get started with Proper Cloth. For custom dress shirts, the process of choosing your collar and sleeve measurements and desired fit (Super Slim, Slim, Classic) is likely familiar.

Casual Shirts – Choose from Small/Medium/Large Sizing

For casual shirt styles, Small/Medium/Large/etc. sizing can be a more familiar method of choosing the right shirt size.

Standard Size options are also available for jacket and pant products

Understanding ‘Width’ Dimensions

Body measurements and the dimensions used for your Proper Cloth orders are quite different. For shirts sizes, Chest Width, Midsection Width, Bottom Width, and Sleeve Width are all measured across the front of a shirt laying flat on a surface.

Similarly, for pants, the Waist, Hip, Thigh, Knee, and Bottom Opening Width are all measured across the front of a pant laid flat.

For jacket sizes, the Chest Width, Midsection Width, Hip Width, Bicep Width, and Sleeve Opening Width are measured across a jacket laid flat.

Thus, multiplying the mentioned ‘width’ dimensions by 2 will yield the total circumference of the garment in these areas. For other measurements such as Collar Around, Sleeve Length, Inseam Length, etc. the dimensions are more straightforward.
