Whether you’re in the cast or watching from home, no one can get enough of This Is Us.

Milo Ventimiglia, who plays Jack in the hit NBC drama, said on the blue carpet at the Critics’ Choice Awards that he’s having so much fun working on the show, he can hardly drag himself home at the end of the day.

Asked when he knew the show would be a hit, Ventimiglia said, “We all knew — the second I read it on my own to the collection of [the cast and crew], day after day, I can’t wait to get to work and I’m sad to go home.”

He added, “These characters are so rich and wealthy of humanity and story that you want to be with them all the time.”

As for the actor’s other hit show this fall, Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life, Ventimiglia said, “It’s exciting. It’s one of those years where I feel very fortunate to be part of great work and be shoulder-to-shoulder with a lot of talented people who are trying to get things out to the fans and the audience.”

Ventimiglia’s This Is Us‘ on-screen wife, Mandy Moore, was also in attendance at the Critics’ Choice Awards on Sunday and echoed her costar’s excitement to be a part of the series.

“We’re grateful every day to show up to work,” Moore said on the blue carpet.

And just like many of the show’s fans, Moore said she can’t help getting a little emotional watching the episodes. “I cry pretty much every episode without fail,” she admitted at the awards show, where Moët & Chandon was served.

While she might be familiar with her own storyline in the show, Moore said watching her cast mates’ work is especially moving. “We’re just in one storyline and one portion of the story, so to see everybody else’s work is pretty overwhelming,” she explained.

This Is Us returns Jan. 10 at 9 p.m. ET on NBC.
