I don’t know about you, but in 1996, I fell in love thanks to a little show called “The Pretender.” It was about a genius who could become anyone he wanted. Basically he was a great impersonator, or professional pretender. See how that works?

Michael T. Weiss played Jarod, the star of the show and one of my earliest TV crushes. Sure, he rocked that truly unfortunate late ’90s Caesar cut — thanks a lot Clooney! — but he was charming, charismatic and smokin’ hot. Plus, there weren’t a whole lot of derivations of my name on TV so I took what I could get.

But since “The Pretender” ended in 2000, I haven’t seen or heard much from Michael. Until today. He’s now starring in a new play on Broadway called “Impressionism” and looks like this. What happened to him in the last eight years? Who is he pretending to be now? J.J. Jameson’s understudy perhaps.
