Palestinians are sending balloon bombs over the border to Israel

This is no friendly balloon-o-gram.

Palestinian protesters sent this homemade bomb floating into Gaza during recent border clashes with Israeli forces — but it was safely shot down before it could do any damage.

Israeli soldiers first sent a surveillance drone to take a look at the dangerous airmail, before a sharpshooter popped enough of the balloons to send the bomb dropping harmlessly into an empty field.

Over the past six months, protesters have sent a series of balloon bombs and flaming kites over the border into Israel.

The improvised devices have wreaked havoc, causing massive fires in Gaza’s farmlands and countryside.

On Tuesday, Israel retaliated with airmail of its own, an armed drone sent over the border to the Palestinian side where it shot at a group of protesters preparing to launch still more incendiary devices, the Times of Israel reported.

On Wednesday, a Palestinian rocket then destroyed a home in southern Israel.

Israel has responded with a show of force: some 60 tanks massed at the border.
