Ravi leaves VIXX and is on trial

Boy group VIXX last made a comeback in 2018, first with the Korean album "Eau De Vixx" in April, followed by the Japanese album "Reincarnation" in September. That was over four years ago, but fans have been patiently waiting for news, hoping to see the guys on stage together again one day. In fact, VIXX has been in touch in between, releasing a single titled "Walking" in February 2019 and just last December Leo, Hyuk and Ken uploaded a cover on Youtube. In January, the three even performed a couple of VIXX hits on the music show M Countdown!

Unfortunately, there was also bad news. In 2020, Hongbin left VIXX and Jellyfish Entertainment, the label where the group debuted in 2012. Following that, N and in Hyuk also left the label. However, the two announced that they were still members of VIXX. So since then, the boy group officially had five members.

Today, rapper Ravi announced on Instagram that he had left VIXX.

Those who have been following the scandal surrounding Ravi over the past few weeks probably aren't too surprised. Back in January, there were rumors that the rapper had used illegal means to postpone his military service. He has been working in the public service since October 2022.

According to the rumors, he sought the help of scammers who provided him and many others with a false medical diagnosis in order to be exempt from military service or at least avoid serving as an active soldier. He was given a false diagnosis of epilepsy.

On Instagram Ravi uploaded a lengthy apology today.

In it, he explains that he postponed his service by these means because he had to conclude contracts that he had already signed before Corona. Because of the pandemic, the activities he had committed to in the contracts were postponed for years. If Ravi had canceled them, he would have had to pay a fine. At the time, he was the only artist on his label GROVVL1N who was bringing in money.

He apologized to all the men currently doing their military duty as well as to epilepsy patients he may have offended with his false diagnosis:

"I would like to sincerely apologize to the epilepsy patients and their families who must have been hurt by me rationalizing and making a wrong decision in this process, as well as to all military members who are faithfully performing their duties even at this moment."

Regarding his resignation from VIXX, Ravi wrote the following:

"And finally, to the VIXX members who have been harmed through my fault: I have decided to leave the team so that no further harm is done. I sincerely thank all the members who accompanied me for 11 years and I am infinitely sorry. I sincerely hope that I will not do any further harm to the valuable efforts of the members."

So as of today, VIXX is officially down to four members. Ravi is currently in a court case for violating the Military Service Act. The prosecution demanded two years in prison for Ravi and other defendants in the first trial.
