Oguri Shun & Yamada Yu married
15 Mar – After speculations of a breakup between actress-singer Yamada Yu and actor-director Oguri Shun due to his rumoured affair, the couple have announced their marriage on 14 March.
According to Tokyo Hive, the 30-year-old actor and 28-year-old actress made a joint announcement to the media, saying that they would be registering their marriage today (14 March).
"We, Oguri Shun and Yamada Yu are registering our marriage on 14th March. We have received support by so many people until now, which is why we are able to experience this happy moment."
They continued, "We are truly full of gratitude. We would like to build up a warm family while supporting each other and cherishing every single day. Please continue to support us."
The date was chosen as it was a significant one, not only because it was White Day, but it was also their 4th anniversary together as a couple.
Oguri and Yamada started dating in 2008. In 2010, a tabloid magazine reported that Oguri was spotted to have entered a love hotel with a female companion that he met during a drinking session with friends. In response to this, Yamada posted on her blog that life was full of ups and downs.
However during an event in 2011, a blissful Yamada shared that she liked chestnuts, which is one of the characters in Oguri's name, and remarked, "An ordinary chestnut never changes. I feel particularly so about the ups and downs."
