Q:
Anyone know if it offers a rice noodles for gluten-sensitive diners?
A:
I don't think they do. That is not what ramen is supposed to be. Plus, rice noodle doesn't go well with the broth. You'd better look for pho at a Vietnamese restaurant.

A nice hole in the wall with authentic made to order Japan style comfort food at a reasonable price.
We ordered the edamame which came out perfectly cooked with a nice crunch and just the right amount of salt.
The pork friend rice was also a nice appetizer (a bit peppery for mutate but also good). We also had the fried tako (octopus) which has a crunchy coating and soft flavorful bite. Wish there was a dipping axcompanyment.
Mae hade two deluxe ramen and two miso ramen.
The small wait was worth it as it was full of flavor without overpowering the experience or taste.
The place wanted and clean and staff was attentive and professional.
Reservations are recommended although I saw a few open tables.Helpful 2Thanks 1Love this 2Oh no 0 - Dec 12, 2023
I'm a big fan. I enjoy Hide-Chan a lot, but what's funny about it is that I only rarely get the ramen. Instead, I get a lot of the appetizers and the other things they have.
Their Kara-age (fried chicken) is fantastic. Some of the best japanese style fried chicken in Manhattan, for me. They have a good selection of veggie appetizers. The spicy cucumber and spicy bamboo salads are particularly good. The takoyaki is great and succulent. That's just a few of the things I enjoy there, too many to list. I'm a big fan of the cocktails as well.
The ramen here is pretty good - not my favorite in the neighborhood but solid. But the variety of other appetizers and dishes keeps me coming back.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - 26664124Apr 26, 2024
Solid ramen spot tucked away in midtown! The karaage was crunchy and juicy and pretty good ramen for the price. I enjoyed the deluxe ramen better than the black garlic ramen, the broth had better flavor and lots of toppings for the price. I got the noodles firm so it wouldnt be too soggy while i was eating it and it was perfect.

I hate leaving these reviews, but given that my friend and I got two different Ramens and we both agreed that BOTH were the worst Ramen we have ever had, I have to leave two stars.
The reason for two stars instead of one is because everything except the Ramen was great. We got an eel appetizer with cucumber that was wonderful. We also got radish kimchi that was delightful, tangy and refreshing.
However, the two different Ramens that we both got were equally extremely oily, lacking in flavor, and overall muddy.Helpful 4Thanks 2Love this 3Oh no 1 - Dec 5, 2023
Came here for the first time & know this will be my go to spot. Greeted warmly upon arrival, seated rite away (Tuesday nite at 545p) and the food came quickly. Had some yummy dumplings for appetizer & Ramen for main meal. I appreciated that we were left alone & never rushed out the door. Definitely lots of regulars that come in to enjoy their meal & out the door w in 30 mins. The broth was rich & spicy but not overpowering in my spicey garlic. Volume of the restaurant was never loud & servers were constantly attentive. Highly recommend

Delicious food, good service, prices are ok, I don't love the ambiance so I always get takeout. I'd come more often and eat in if they could improve ventilation. Im bothered by a think smells of food that permeates everywhere currently

I really like this place. The vibe is really great -- it is on the second floor (above *another* ramen place, ironically), and is very well-decorated. It really feels like you are in Japan. I sat at the bar, though they have several small tables in areas that seem great for an dinner with a few friends. The ramen was very good. Service was friendly.

Came here for a birthday party on an early Sunday evening. The service was top notch and the staff were very patient.
The food was freshly made and so good. Their deep fried items - chicken karaage and skewers were very tasty.
There were a range of ramen noodles to choose from. I went to for the classic and did not regret it at all. Would love to try the hot/fire one next time.
Also I left a book at the place and the staff was nice enough to keep it for me!Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0
