SEATTLE, Wash. — Former state Republican Party chair Susan Hutchison announced Friday she’s challenging incumbent U.S. Senator Maria Cantwell.

Hutchison is the best known of the more than two dozen challengers seeking to unseat Cantwell.

She told the Seattle Times that a “sitting senator who is known for doing nothing for us does not deserve a fourth term.”

Hutchison is a former TV news anchor who became the Washington State Republican Party chair in 2013, but stepped down earlier this year amid speculation she might be appointed to a position in President Trump’s administration.
