Toronto! After two long years, our bitter sweet, end of summer annual exhibition is back! One of Canada’s greatest and longing standing fairs, the Canadian National Exhibition has been open since 1879! As such, the CNE is a generational tradition for most greater Toronto area residents! Sadly for the last two summers the pandemic has silenced this event, however for 2022, it will be silenced no more! That’s right, I have great news, the CNE is back! And here’s what you need to know!

Early Bird Discount:

Until midnight tonight, the CNE is offering an early bird discount on both admission and all day ride passes! For a limited time you can purchase admission for $20 and all day ride passes for $41.59! But act fast because like Cinderella this special offer expires at 12am!

What’s new this year?

The Drone Show!

Each night at 10:45pm, the CNE’s skies will come to life with a colourful display of lights curtesy of groundbreaking drone technology! Look for this dazzling display over the food building until September 4th!

New Foods!

The CNE has developed a name synonymous with crazy and interesting new food combinations an 2022 is no different! The adventurous can enjoy all of the following new creations:

  • 2ft Long Tacos
  • Squid-Ink Korean Corn Dog
  • Mac n’ Cheese Pizza
  • Lightsaber Cotton Candy
  • Krispy Kreme Pulled Pork Sandwich
  • Bucket of Nachos
  • Ketchup Flavoured Soft Serve Ice Cream
  • Mustard Flavoured Soft Serve Ice Cream (should we mix them :P)

The Gaming Garage!

First the first year ever FTC teams have the opportunity to compete at the EX! You don’t have to be officially registered in the 2021/2022 FTC season either to participate either! The event is open to teams of 15 students ages 12-18 years old!

The NEVAEH & the NorthStar!

A spectacular multi-media show presented by VinFast that runs daily at Coca-Cola Coliseum at 1pm, 3pm, and 6pm. This production features groundbreaking theatrical technologies as well as amazing drone technology! NEVAEH and her guiding light Northstar take an epic adventure through the ages and galaxies and is a show you won’t want to miss!

Returning Favourites now that the CNE is back!

The Air Show!

Back for it’s 73rd season, the airshow is prepared to awe guests with a spectacular new aerial production! The Canadian Snowbirds have returned along with the United States Air Force F-35 demonstration team, the Royal Canadian Air Force CF-18 demonstration jet, the Canadian Forces SkyHawks (Canada’s only military parachute demonstration team and finally the last performance for Pilot Gord Price in his Yak-50! As always the airshow will take place on closing weekend September 3-5th, 2022.

The Superdogs!

Back are the beloved SuperDogs with their brand new show “Pawvengers” where these superheroes foil their supervillain foes! A fun event for all these shows run daily at 2pm, 4:30pm, and 6:30pm with extra shows at 12pm Friday-Sundays!

I think we can all agree that the Canadian National Exhibition is deeply routed in not only Toronto’s history but also a piece of our own! I’m thankful that this is something that did not get extinguished by the pandemic and that’s why I am so happy to share with all of you that thankfully for 2022 The CNE is back!
