Distribution

  • Regions of the Russian Federation: the Volga-Don, East Caucasus, the European North-West, the European Central Black Earth, Central European, Western Caucasus, Lower Volga, the Volga-Average, Average Urals. [3].

Imago Habitus and Differences from alike species

  • Butterfly blue-black. The front edge, peperechnaya ligation and the outer edge of the front wing black. Fourth abdominal ring red (at the top and bottom of the female and the male only from above). The wingspan of about 20 mm. [11].

General info about Larva

  • Caterpillars gnaw at the bark of apple trees, and their moves are filled with brown juice. [11].
