JT is shutting down resurfaced rumors about ever getting into an altercation with fellow female rapper GloRilla at last month’s MTV VMAs. The City Girls rapper says, “Y’all taking it too far. Nothing happened.”
On Saturday (October 7), Twitter and Facebook went into a frenzy with resurfaced rumors claiming that JT and GloRilla threw hands backstage at the MTV VMAs, which took place on September 12 at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey.
Social media users claimed that the two rappers, who previously worked together on GloRilla’s “F.N.F. (Remix),” got into an altercation when GloRilla walked up to greet and hug JT, but was allegedly snubbed by the City Girls rapper. Several assumptions have been made as to why JT allegedly dissed GloRilla.

Some social users believe there was a previous run-in at a Beyoncé concert, and others are saying that GloRilla allegedly dissed JT by having Cardi B feature on her more recent song “Tomorrow 2,” where Cardi allegedly sent shots at Nicki Minaj and JT.
According to an alleged witness at the MTV VMAs, GloRilla allegedly threw a drink and/or a purse at JT after the alleged snub, and that’s what jumpstarted the alleged fight that had to be broken up by management and publicists, reportedly. The tweets and Facebook posts speculating about the alleged incident first began circulating the night of the VMAs and spilled over into the next few days.
However, due to the drama surrounding Nicki Minaj’s husband Kenneth Petty and his associates threatening Cardi B and her husband, former Migos rapper Offset, the posts about GloRilla and JT got washed away and there was no real mention of it until now. As the rumors resurface and continue to run rampant, JT has caught wind of it and tried to deny the claims with a few post-and-deletes.
Taking to her account on X, JT reposted a video of herself being interviewed, and in the clip, she offered a quote of the day. She said, “A positive quote of the day. You win some, you lose some. But, you live to fight another day.”
Replying to the video, one social media user wrote, “You don’t even look like you’d get your a** beat.” JT replied,“What that mean? I look rough? Don’t say that!” Another person wrote, “B*tch, I’m crying. F**k you got your a** whooped moe?” JT fired back, “Does this look like someone who got they a** whooped? I know y’all lives hella boring and y’all love to believe that, but it didn’t happen. Next caller!”
Responding to her initial post of the interview clip, JT added, “The caption clearly says [this was] after the VMAs. I was gonna let y’all have fun, but y’all taking it too far. Nothing happened. You can all iron your khakis for school tomorrow.”
Before JT’s response, social media also resurfaced a clip of Cardi doing an interview about two weeks ago. In the clip, she said that she doesn’t encourage other female rappers to “choose sides” when there is a beef going on and when it comes to considering working together. She said, “Work with who you want to work with. It’s a business at the end of the day.”
