Wifi interface not working #25
Comments
Hello, |
Hi,
It seems that this MAC address is wrong (it has set I/G and U/L bits), take a look here: http://packetsdropped.wordpress.com/2011/01/13/mac-address-universally-or-locally-administered-bit-and-individualgroup-bit/ Regards, |
Yes! - it is a new just shipped module. The only change was the firmware upgrade. (the hexdump is too large for posting) Sorry i don't want to close the issue. |

Is there a sticker with MAC address on carambola2 module? |
No there is no sticker on the module. It is a Carambola2 Development board bundle. |
i have a second development board with also no sticker on it, but the wifi interface on this board works fine. |
If i compare the hexdump with my working carambola2 it seems to me that the not working one "mtd5" has worng content or is uninitialized. I just found the "wrong" MAC Address of the wifi interface in the dump root@carambola2:~# hexdump -C /dev/mtdblock5 -n 6 -s 0x1002
00001002 9b db 52 32 c8 24 |..R2.$| is it possible to rewrite the /dev/mtdblock5 ? |
Thanks for the information. Seems there has been mistake in production, we are sorry. Here's how to fix your board:
Only enter these commands if above command successfully downloaded the file. |
