Ving Rhames Joins ABC NBA Pilot

Ving Rhames (Mission Impossible franchise) is taking a comedic turn with a co-starring role in ABC’s untitled NBA buddy comedy pilot, executive produced by Galavant creator Dan Fogelman, Mandalay Sports Media’s Peter Guber & Mike Tollin and Kapital Entertainment’s Aaron Kaplan.

Written/executive produced by Casey Johnson and David Windsor, the single-camera NBA project, from ABC Studios, is a buddy comedy about Mo (Blondy Baruti), an NBA rookie who doesn’t speak English, and a translator (Skylar Astin) who doesn’t speak basketball.

Rhames, repped by Kramer Management, will play the team’s confident and smooth general manager. Rhames’ TV series credits have been largely dramas to date, including Monday Mornings and Gravity.

Palantir raises 2024 forecast on robust AI demand
Data analytics firm Palantir Technologies raised its annual revenue and profit forecast and beat first-quarter sales estimates on Monday, riding on strong demand for its services that help businesses deploy artificial intelligence applications. The company has emerged as a winner of the generative AI boom thanks to its artificial intelligence platform, which is used to test and debug code and help evaluate AI-related scenarios, among other uses. "AIP is driving a huge part of both our new customers and growth within existing customers and its having a huge impact on our business," chief revenue officer Ryan Taylor told Reuters.
