Model Karolina Kurkova Doesn't Like the Term 'Plus-Size': 'I Just Think They're Beautiful, Curvy Women'

Like Ashley Graham before her, Karolina Kurkova is taking a stand against the term 'plus-size.'

The former Victoria's Secret model doesn't understand why we need to categorize women in that way.

"I don't like to call them plus-sized because I don't think they're plus-sized. I just think they're beautiful, curvy women," Kurkova tells Style Code Live, Amazon's new live stream fashion and beauty show. "Women come in different shapes and forms and I think we should celebrate it."

"Not everybody's going to have the same body type I have, and I'm not going to look like somebody else. So I think we have to celebrate that."

Kurkova applauded Sports Illustrated for highlighting the same sentiment with their cover featuring Graham.

"I think it’s amazing. For Sports Illustrated to do that, I think it says a lot," Kurkova says. "There are a lot of people who love different things and we need to see different things out there."

She also addressed former SI model Cheryl Tiegs' comments that we shouldn't be "talking about full-figured women because we're glamorizing them." Kurkova disagrees with that idea, emphasizing that we should be praising all sizes.

"It's important to be healthy and to take care of yourself, but I think we all have different body types and not everybody's going to look the same," she says. "So I think it's great that designers and magazines are making women inclusive who don't look like your typical, like maybe look like me or like somebody else."

"I think curvy is beautiful."
