The Citroën CX - the avant-garde that came out of the computer printer

Historical car advertising is a cultural asset and always a reflection of its time. Let's turn on the headlights, with the cone of light on the beginning of the 80s. An avant-garde Citroën CX GTi actually jumped out of the computer printer. As proof of progressive thinking and innovation, the French tried the arts of a dot matrix printer and used the continuous paper that is customary in EDP.

While that sounds touchingly nostalgic 40 years later, other advertising content from the past is not. Energy shortages are more of an issue today than ever. But it was already urgent in 1980, if the copywriters are to be believed.

While today we are supposed to fight the energy shortage with increased digitization and electric cars, 4 decades ago there was a more logical proposal. In a nutshell, it was: intelligence.
