English: The Wat Xieng Mouane Buddhist temple at Luang Prabang was founded in the mid-19th century by Phragna Sisonxay in 1853, during the reign of King Chantharath Koumane or Chanta-Kuman (1850-1868), according to local Loatian oral traditions.
