This 2006 Mercedes-Benz CLS55 AMG is powered by a supercharged 5.4-liter V8 mated to a five-speed automatic transmission and is finished in Black Opal Metallic over black leather upholstery. Equipment includes the P30 Performance package’s 19″ AMG multi-piece wheels, “Nürburgring” Airmatic suspension, compound disc brakes, limited-slip differential, and Alcantara-trimmed steering wheel in addition to active bi-xenon headlights, a sunroof, heated and ventilated dynamic front seats, four-zone climate control, Keyless Go, a powered rear-window sunshade, and COMAND infotainment with Harman Kardon audio and a CD changer. The car spent time in Texas and North Carolina prior to being relocated to Illinois in conjunction with the selling dealer’s January 2023 acquisition. Work in the same year included changing the oil, refinishing the wheels, and replacing the auxiliary battery, steering-position sensor, and engine accessory-belt idler pulley. This CLS55 AMG has 40k miles and is now offered with manufacturer’s literature, recent service records, spare floor mats, a clean Carfax report, and a clean Illinois title.
The AMG version of the CLS received revised lower body styling, and this example is finished in Black Opal Metallic. Features include a powered glass sunroof, a rear spoiler, active bi-xenon headlights, fog lights, and quad exhaust outlets. A recall inspection of the sunroof was carried out in January 2023, and photos showing chipped paint on the hood and scrapes under the front lip are provided in the gallery below.
Split-spoke 19″ AMG multi-piece wheels are mounted with 255/35 front and 285/30 rear Bridgestone Potenza S04 Pole Position tires. Braking is provided by AMG-logo multi-piston calipers mounted over ventilated two-piece rotors, and the car is equipped with Airmatic Dual Control suspension that received AMG “Nürburgring” tuning as part of the Performance package. The steering angle sensor was replaced in January 2023, and the wheels were refinished the following month.
The heated, ventilated, and power-adjustable front seats are trimmed in black leather with perforated inserts and feature position memory, dynamic bolsters, Alcantara shoulder inserts, and massage. Additional appointments include four-zone automatic climate control, Keyless Go, and COMAND infotainment with navigation and a Harman Kardon sound system in addition to burl walnut trim, a power-operated rear sunshade, an Alcantara headliner, AMG-branded door sills, and all-weather floor mats. The cabin air filter was replaced in January 2023, and a set of AMG-logo carpeted floor mats is included in the sale.
The leather and Alcantara-wrapped AMG sport steering wheel fronts a 200-mph speedometer with an inset digital information display in addition to a 7k-rpm tachometer, an AMG-branded analog clock, and digital gauges for coolant temperature and fuel level. The digital odometer indicates 40k miles.
The supercharged 5.4-liter M113 V8 was factory rated at 469 horsepower and 516 lb-ft of torque and carries a plaque with the name of the engine assembler. In January 2023, the oil was changed and the idler pulley, air filter, and auxiliary battery were replaced.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through an AMG-tuned five-speed automatic transmission and a limited-slip differential
The Carfax report shows no accidents or other damage and lists history in Texas, North Carolina, and Illinois.
