As we finish up the current dead week and rerun banners, we have a returning event, "New Year’s Rhapsody No.68". This event features 2 new students, Kayoko (New Year) and Haruka (New Year). This event rerun also brings back 3 returning students Mutuski (New Year) + Aru (New Year) who are both Limited characters and Serika (New Year) a Permanent student. In this article, we will briefly go over whether Kayoko (New Year) is worth pulling for or saving for another banner.

Overview

NY.Kayoko is a Permanent 3* Striker student who is used as a Mystic damage buffer. She provides a large Mystic Effectiveness damage buff to students with her EX Skill. While NY.Kayoko’s Unique Equipment 40 may have strong effects, mainly Buff Retention, as she already has long-lasting buffs, which makes Buff Retention less appealing.

In addition to this, her EX Skill is at a low cost of 2 and has a long duration of 40 seconds. This allows her to be used in either a traditional hyper-carry or in a multi-DPS team to buff multiple Mystic damage dealers. For budget or F2P players, it is better to save Eligmas for other students, mainly damage dealers, as they will want the increase in stats and Enhanced+ to further increase their damage.

Now that we know what Kayoko provides to the team, is she worth pulling for?
First and foremost, if Kayoko is your favorite student, then don't let this guide stop you from pulling her. As at the end of the day, it is your game and account.

Yes, NY.Kayoko is a strong Striker student who is able to double the damage dealt by Mystic damage dealers toward Special armor. Her buffs are so potent that she can be worth bringing to any Special armored raid in Insane, regardless of the enemy’s damage type. While her use case is limited to only Mystic raids, she is still an extremely strong pick-up regardless, as her buffs can help ease up on the damage requirements needed to clear those raids.

For newer players or for players who have an extremely limited roster of students, NY.Kayoko may not provide much for your team. Since she only BUFFS the damage of a Mystic damage dealer against Special armored enemies and the damage she deals herself is not a large factor when using her. However, even with all of this said, we still highly recommend picking her up. As there will always be a farmable Mystic damage dealer available from hard stages e.g. Haruna. But NY.Kayoko does not have any farmable stages and may not have a rerun banner in the foreseeable future.
