(Othonna filicaulis auct. non Jacq.)

This member of the Asteraceae family was given this name by John Charles Manning and Peter Goldblatt in 2010. It is found in southern Namibia and western South Africa, growing in a well drained sandy soil with some water and lots of sun. The caudex can grow to two centimetres in diameter, the entire plant from twelve to 70 centimetres in height. The flowers are yellow or apparently pale pink.

The genera name from the Greek othone, 'a linen cloth or napkin', in allusion to the downy covering of some of the earlier known species. The species name means 'wavy, with wavy margin' from edges of the leaves?.

I think this must be a winter-grower.
