Hans Kollhoff founded his practice in 1978 after completing his studies at Cornell University, where he studied under Colin Rowe and Oswald Mathias Ungers. The work of the practice is characterised by a focus on the reconstruction of the European city.
Key projects include the monumental Piraeus apartment building in Amsterdam (1994), which left a lasting legacy on housing design in Europe, and the Daimler Chrysler Highrise Building in Potsdamer Platz, Berlin, (2000) which demonstrated the continued relevance of the language of early twentieth century American skyscrapers to contemporary needs.
