Cactus Crassula Pellucida ssp. Marginalis

It is a highly sought after plant for collectors of crass plants.

The Crassula Pellucida spp. Marginalis, from southern Africa, better known as crassula marginalis, is a fairly small leaf-bearing plant that eventually ends up having a port hanging from a very large beauty that it ends up making like a blanket of leaves. It is of somewhat slow growth, but when it grows, it grows as wide as it is tall, making it an excellent plant for a hanging test or even in between stones.

Their leaves are thick, with a heart like shape, alternating between them and having a dark green key in the central part and a lighter green on the edges which, over time, changes to a fuchsia that attracts much attention.

It needs a lot of illumination for both development and flowering, but it must always be indirect. What it may like is the first sunlight, when it is weak and cannot hurt it, and you must avoid the central hours, which is when burns could occur on the leaves. And the flowers, if you follow what I said, you’ll see tiny flowers that come out clustered, star-shaped and normal white.

Irrigation must be rather scarce, as it is a crass plant, as all other species of this genus (also succulent) accumulate water in their tissues. So, if you don’t want to risk losing this plant, I recommend that you water only when the substrate is completely dry. If you’re not sure when the time is right, sink a finger into the substrate and if you feel it’s humid, you still have to wait, instead, if you feel it’s dry, it’s time to irrigate, always preventing water from damming.

Finally, it is resistant to pests and diseases, only watch out for the excess irrigation and stinking of the roots given by an excess of moisture.
