Leucetta chagosensis Dendy, 1913

Leucetta chagosensis is found in seaward reef caves, uncommonly in shallower waters to about 20m but much more common at depths exceeding 40m. It often appears to be "dripping" or hanging like stalactites from cave ceilings. A single specimen of the nudibranch Aegires citrinus has been found on this sponge at Kwajalein.

Numerous colonies along with several tunicate Botryllus colonies on a cave ceiling at about 60m.
