Baby Yoda

“The Kid”, “The Child”, “The Asset”… whatever you call it, the child is the most powerful 50 year old toddler in the galaxy. Little is known about the kid’s race, home world, or whether it’s a boy or a girl.  The remnants of The Empire want it for  dubious reasons, and the mandalorian wants to protect it, because he too was an orphan.

While watching the kid sip broth in an episode of The Mandalorian, I was overwhelmed by how adorable “Baby Yoda” is. I knew I had to create an origami version. I also knew my version needed to be more than just the same yoda model using smaller paper. In another scene he’s floating along in his crib and it hit me, that’s what I need to create. It took 4 days to get the proportions correct, and sadly I couldn’t make the rounded egg shape of the crib without breaking origami rules…  This Is The Way.
